NYFW, sept 6th edition

I am in such a frenzy! The second day of NYFW has proven to be quite intersting with the hype doing nothing but escalating. The shows with the most notoriety obviously get saved for later. But even so, the shows considered "low budget" - read "indie" -are pulling a few tricks out of their hats. Although they don't necessarily have the financial backup their big corporate comrads are blessed with, they manage to impress. Out of the lineup from september 6, here are my top picks:

Alexander Wang. How much do you picture yourself wearing his so classicaly cool garbs to everything from the office, to lunch meeting, to happy hour, to party, to week end in the city? I like simple clothes, neutral colors, feminine and menswear-inspired pieces and great cuts. All of which we saw strutting down his runway. The perfect clothing for they über-cool young professional. This is a fact: he designs for M.O.D.'s (models off-duty).

Jenni Kayne. For her ultra classic tailoring of the men's blazer (i am really into the men's blazer this season). I also loved her Elvira Hancock inspired 70's sheaths. Classy, stylish and simply exquisite.

Karen Walker. The 70's inspiration was a divine girly heaven. So chic! So bold! So now!

PS i am extatic at the anticipated arrival of Peter Som at Bill Blass!
