NYFW sept 9

Mr Lim is one of my favorites. His past collections have just been something so accessible and so inspirational therefore this show was highy anticipated on my part. Even if i didn't find the collection as dreamy as his previous, he still gets my vote. 3.1 Philip Lim has proven to be a label that is very solid, and it will most probably always have my heart. Here are the standouts (well, according my flawless taste).

Oh my, I can hardly even believe how much i fell in love with the entirety of the Derek Lam collection. As i've already mentioned, the 70's theme is very big this season and Derek was no stranger to this very chic trend i am deeply infatuated with. He's really captured the free spirited vibe of what inspired the pieces: his fave master lenseman, Guy Bourdin. I deem his talent undeniable. It's so hard to make my choices for best looks because they were all the best, but if i had to choose...

Donna Karan mustered some pretty cool things in her DKNY show. Lots of flowyness, lots of elegance, but also a few Avril Lavigne-isms. Nonetheless, the majority of it was chic Sex and the City circa mid 70's and it was just fabulous.

Unfortunately i must run and that's all i had time to see for now. Except for the Peter Som show, which is also worth checking out. Lots of feminine pieces there with softcolors and flowy shapes. Hopefully i will post the rest tonight if i have time. I am going out of town until sunday tomorrow night, so i must get ready for that as well!
