Hand me downs

Every time i visit my mother, i leave with a few treasures that were buried deep in her closet. She always says "look, this is back in style, but if i wear it, i just look like an old lady wearing her old stuff!", which always makes me chuckle, cause, well, let's be honest, she has a point. Then i proceed to gladly take all those things off her hands. Case in point: the top and that belt. Thanks mom, love you!

I had to post this shot- it's so beautiful, i can't look away. And i just spoke of my love for Olga, so it seemed fitting.

I know that this editorial is going to make the rounds in the blogosphere, but i simply had to post and write about this. When i saw these images, it immediately brought me back to 1997, after Cher Horowitz's influence had spread like wildfire and when Clueless, the tv series, came out. I vividly remember sifting through my september 'Teen magazine and being so taken with an editorial that bore a striking similarity in colors, styling and setting to these Georgia May photos. This is pure nostalgia for me. And isn't it just a little bit ironic that miss Jagger was only a toddler then? Plus it's kind of making me itch for fall fashion, believe it or not.

The influence:

[fashionising, childrenofthenineties]

Lucy In the Sky with Diamonds

I was just reading an article in July's Vogue about how girls are starting to gravitate towards a more polished form of dressing, which just felt so relevant after the grunge and gothic overload of the past two years. I've always had a special appreciation for an unfussy and clean look and always strongly considered refinement was achieved via subtlety. Lauren Santo Domingo also apparently subscribes to that school of thought.

Olga Sherer has long been a favorite model of mine and although she's been a catwalk staple for quite a few years now, we don't see her in enough editorials. There's just something special about her face and that fiery hair.

Oh, the movie never ends

Ashley looking every bit the mogul she is. And style icon, of course. Although she seems to have recently veered in a different sartorial direction, her former minimalism and polished lines still deeply resonate with me.

It's official

I'd like to wish everybody a happy summer solstice! Isn't this what we wait for all winter long? Here's to the next few months of sun, swim and outdoor cocktails at dusk. Here here.

Summer nights

Ok so i know i haven't done an outfit post in super long, but here is one now! This is one of the tops i recently picked up in nyc and had the occasion to wear it at my friend's restaurant opening the other night. I instantly fell in love with it cause it had a very feminine and vintage feel and it's the softest silk ever.

Also, i've recently preached about mary janes and so here's my spin on them.

With my lovely roommate Vanessa

Top - Kate Moss for Topshop
Leather skirt - Vintage
Shoes - Ralph Lauren Collection

A shoe named Desire

How epic is this pre-fall Proenza footwear?

Cream dream

How amazing and feminine is this look?! I'm usually not really into "adding a pop of color with shoes" but this is seriously making me reconsider. Exquisite! A+!

Let's go surfin' now, everybody's learning how

Erin Heatherton is one babe of a surfer. How breathtaking are these?!

For me, for me, formidable

Everything about this girl is extremely alluring: her effortless and incredibly chic look (hello navy & black - SWOON!), her warm chestnut hair, her flawless milky complexion, her green eyes, her willowy frame. I don't know who she is, but she looks very Parisian and that is definitely something to strive for!

Hey guys, i'm so sorry for being a bad blogger recently! I'm still trying to adjust to my new schedule with my new job and i've had a lot going on recently, but should be getting my groove back shortly. In the meantime, how AMAZING does Dajana look?! She looks a lot like Julia Restoin-Roitfeld, and that's always a good thing.

Do you Do you Do you Saint Tropez

The girls party after what must have been a very hard day's work. Wink!

Rock 'n roll goddess

Often imitated, never duplicated.

PS Can anyone ID those sunglasses?

**Edit: i figured out what the glasses were, thanks to all! :)

Those lips

I've been obsessed with fuchsia lips lately - it just feels so fresh and so perfect for summer. When i have the choice, i always go for the red lollipops or popsicles so they leave a stain on my lips.

She'll kick your ass

There's something very confrontational yet very touching about this photograph. I was immediately drawn to its dark and aggressive tone, but there's also an undeniable sensuality to it. I love these kinds of dualities, they offer a deeper meaning, something beyond the surface.

Like a vision

Damn that Lara, what a babe.

Mary Jane

I've always had a thing for Mary Janes. Their femininity and retro yet classic feel seals my penchant.

Hanne Gaby

"She owns a mercedez-benz without having a driver license."

Fall back, spring forward

I'm completely smitten with this Bonnie Parker 90's vibe Chloë channeled for her new Opening Ceremony collection. And i love the city grazing shots - maybe that had a hand in stealing my heart.
