Fashion Over Reason: Everyday Style

Everyday Style

I haven't done an outfit post in quite some time and that's simply because i don't have a spare minute. And i have a shitty camera. And it sometimes proves to be a little difficult to get together for that sole purpose with my partner in crime.

However!

As previously discussed with said partner in crime, the most honest way to showcase your style (is it vain to think that some people out there care?) is to capture what you actually wear on a daily basis, like, in REAL LIFE. Sure, "editorial style" outfit posts are representative of my taste and i have never shown anything on this blog that i didn't actually wear... but these iphone shots yonder were taken on a whim before leaving for work in the morning. They may not be the greatest aspirational fantasy-inducing imagery, but they are competely sincere for 100% authenticity. Which is why you'll have to excuse the mess in the background. (You might have already seen these if you follow me on Twitter, and if so, my apologies...)

For this look i was inspired by Isabel Marant AW10

Blouse - Vintage
Jeans - The Kooples
Shoes (they are red, in case you can't tell) - Vintage
Coat - Bluenotes (very very old... i'd say circa 2001)
Scarf - H&M
Earrings - H&M
Bag - Givenchy

Striped top - Zara
Jeans - J Brand
Shoes - Zigi
Coat - Vintage
Scarf - No name
Bag - Cowboys Bag

LOVE. LOVE. LOVE.

you KNOW how much im a fan of the iphone snaps...if i only i had a full length mirror. they might not yield the best quality but at the base of it all, im CONVINCED they're deeply rooted in the fundamentals of the term "blogging".

so in loveeeeeeeeeee with the leopard jacket look. i honestly feel like because we hang out and i know you're style, i love this look even more cause i can totally envision how well you rock these looks!

impeccable style, lady ;) xx

omg outfit dos im droooling! oh and i love this idea, i mean i know others may slam you for it being a cell photo, but i think if you were able to put a little more lighting by the mirror they'd be perfection!

btw i love that your shoes sit on shelves. i might have to go run out and do this now!!

Love those coats!! I love your outfit posts and often find myself getting frustrated at all the perfect professional photos out there and think...if only my friend or bf was a photographer! But these are real and I love to see these too!!! I hope you keep posting your style ;) xoxo

Both perfect off-duty looks, and indeed very Isabel Marant. Here A/W collection was incredible, I wish I was brave enough to wear cropped trousers in the god-awful London weather, but sadly I am way too pathetic about being cold. I LOVE The Kooples... Do they have stores anywhere other than Paris yet? I heard a rumour that they might be opening up in London... Definitely needs further investigation. X

I have so much love to give when it comes to these looks. First of all, I love that your jeans are rolled up. If we weren't about to get hit with 20cm of snow I would do that all the time.
I think it's awesome that your jacket is Bluenotes 2001. Oh, it takes me back! I guess that means that fashion is on about a ten year cycle. I should have been a trend forecaster ha!
Finally, I love the stripes of your top peeping out of your leopard print coat. Subtle mixing of prints at its finest!!

xx

adore. i'd rather see these photos then no photos! the first year of my blog was pretty much all mirror shots, i fond them kind of endearing.

adore the last look but they're both so marant. that jacket is amazing!

I think it's good that you share your everyday style! I try to showcase all sides of my style on my blog. I make such an effort to do my work outfits, going out outfits, relaxing outfits. I like to see it all! Love your outfits, you never wear your hair up in outfit pics, but i think it looks great!

I have to laugh when I look at these photos because I have been storing my shoes on bookshelves for years and I have never seen anyone else do it!!!! When my friends see it they think I am crazy and have too many shoes.

I like the realness of your shots. Keep 'em coming =)
