When summer finally rolls around, year after year, the one thing that i can't get enough of is denim cutoffs. I think i speak for the vast majority of women out there - they're just the easiest thing to throw on when it starts warming up. Shown here two ways, executed oh so darn beautifully, with the ideal balance of sass and elegance - by Candace Swanepoel (duh) and Victoria.
The best way to acquire the perfect denim bottoms are to just cut an old pair of jeans into shorts, everyone knows that. But if you don't have one to spare, here are some more than viable options:
Off today for a long weekend upstate, courtesy of Memorial Day (seriously, you americans with all your awesome random holidays are amazing!). It's gonna be amazing and relaxing, filled with moments with family and friends.
The amazing Elin Kling launched a brilliant line this year and this second season is just as fantastic. I am head over heels with this look. Simple, clean, stylish, gorge.
Some little details of the top and the bottom, from two different looks.
1. The earrings were a birthday present last year from the lovely Stephanie - similar idea here 2. Last Saturday night: shoes (similar here) are from last year's Zara and the denim flower skirt is H&M from years ago (same vibe here) - isn't great to be able to rehash old stuff from your closet and they still feel current? I think so.
It's undeniable and now widespread knowledge that this woman has single-handedly transformed fashion since she became a designer. First at Chloé and more recently and famously at fashionista-beloved label Céline. But i didn't need to tell you that. The woman is genius - she embodies the classic, modern woman who embraces the fact that she doesn't look perfect all the time.
Yellow is so synonymous with happy, how can it not lift your spirits and make you dream of the beach? Here channeling Brigitte, the beautiful Hailey is providing just the right dose of inspiration in anticipation for a summer holiday.
How beautiful is this image of Ikeliene? It's so fresh! I love the attitude, adding to the gorgeousness of the sheen on the cheeks and the glittered eyelids. As mentioned prior, i'm very into this sporty trend, surprisingly and uncharacteristically.
Today is my birthday! It's hard to believe everything that happened between now and the same time last year. 27 was such an amazing year, hopefully 28 will be just as great, if not better. Here are some throwback images from last year's festivities, with my girl Stephanie.
I am simply loving the the vibe of these images. It's effortless, cool and casual, but all dressed up at the same time. I'm really head over heels with all of it.
I am obsessed with these shoes and can't stop picturing everywhere i would wear them to and what i would pair them with. I was trying to be good but i may just need to get them.
Nothing says spring time like a plaid vest. This is from a couple months back but hey, it's still weather-appropriate. Mixing the patterns here felt completely natural and the red boots? Ties the whole thing together.
Some would say all black is boring, but this is the proof that it's not. All kinds of amazing elements in both these photos, such as black leather pants, a black Céline bag and a baseball hat, among other things.
Must share these 2 recently acquired sweaters with you guys, as they highly exceeded my expectations when i opened my package. Simply put, they fall perfectly and are super versatile, cozy yet still light enough for the warming weather. The blue one kind of reminds me of this Rag & Bone number, but for a fraction of what you would shell out for it. I got them both in medium so they can rest loosely on my frame. Highly, highly recommend them.
This is what my Saturday looked like this past weekend, from day (lounging in the park) to night (sipping rosé champagne on a terrace). It was blissful, truly.
Gahhhh i'm obsessed with this special New York City Ballet collaboration with OPI. It's no secret that i'm obsessed with the ballet so i may be partial, but the colors really are so pretty, so light, so soft, so perfect.
I haven't been posting outfits like i sometimes did in the past but you all know it's because i don't have the means for beautifully staged pics. However, after the winter slump, as i like to call it, outfit inspiration is less scarce and i'm finding myself quite excited about getting dressed this spring. A particular piece that has my senses tingling recently is - seriously, who would have thought - my new sneakers. I'm, in short, o b s e s s e d. If you recall, i spoke about them here and here i go again. My go-to shoe for the season, that's for sure. I'm quite knee-deep in love with the whole sporty look, actually - as you can tell by my look yonder and the wannabe Letterman jacket.
Jacket - Marc Jacobs (similar tune here, here or here) Pants - Zara (like these) Top - Vintage Henley (this would do) Shoes - Topshop Bag - Zara (much better option here) Watch - Vintage Omega Seamaster [family heirloom] (this would do)
I know it's taking a while - so sorry! - but sorting through all the photos from that night is proving to take much more time than anticipated. If you follow me on instagram, you've already seen this, but here i am, having the time of my life after saying I Do.
Karmen Pedaru is one of my favorite models and she simply embodies the spirit of this editorial so seamlessly. Disheveled, care-free, rock n roll, bohemian and romantic. Those knits are gorgeous and she makes them look even more desirable.
I generally stay away from discussing award show garb but for some reason i feel like it this year. And some of the ladies looked so amazing that i can't help it, i need to talk about it with someone. Here goes (no order).
1. Carey Mulligan in Prada 2. Camilla Belle in Ralph Lauren 3. Anja Rubik in Anthony Vaccarello 4. Constance Jablonski in Haider Ackermann 5. Gwyneth Paltrow in Prada 6. Karlie Kloss in Jason Wu 7. Emma Stone in Lanvin 8. Karolina Kurkova in Rachel Zoe 9. Kate Bosworth in Prada 10. Rihanna in Tom Ford 11. Florence Welch in THAT McQueen (omg i almost died when i saw this - AMAZING)
After failing to find the Marant kicks anywhere, i finally got my paws into a pair of sneaker wedges. It took me a while to find an immitation inspired-by pair that i actually deemed worthy and aesthetically-pleasing and after a long, arduous search, the Topshop version has proven to be the next best thing. These shoes are amazing and they were actually better than i expected when i received them. I orginally wanted the black ones but they were sold out so i went with this greyish beige color and couldn't be happier. I HIGHLY recommend them.
