Oversize Epidemic

And i love it. It helps that Kasia is modeling, but the styling in this story for September's Vogue Russia feels so "of our time" - so to speak. I personally think it's all kinds of fantastic.

Blogger Beauty

If you're a longtime reader of this blog (thank you!), you know that i harbor an unhealthy obsession with Columbine. So obviously when she got together with an equally inspiring blogger, Zanita, only beauty overload could come out of it. I'm dying over what she's wearing. D Y I N G.

I'm not ususally a frills and flounces type of gal but after coming across this ruffled skirt last week at the clothing exchange my girlfriends and i organized, i thought i'd give it a shot. I figured this was my opportunity to have an Isabel Marant moment without taking the financial plunge on something i was only reluctantly approaching. Well i'm glad i did cause offsetting it with edgier pieces was the perfect pairing, i think. What say you?

Jacket - Helmut Lang
Sweater - H&M
Skirt - Forever21
Bag - Bottega Veneta Boots - Zara

If you're ready for your own Isabel Marant moment, go forth:

Alana Zimmer has been a favorite of mine since her very beginnings in the modeling world. She's also got, in my humble opinion, one of the best off duty styles - she always looks fresh, chic and cool. I absolutely ADORE this sleek green overcoat and cannot get enough of the shade this season. Thank you, Zimmer, for putting that on my radar!

Ps this Vanessa Bruno coat would certainly do the trick:

We Belong to the Night

I hate the dolled up look on a night out. I like to just add little details that make my look less daytime. I got this sequined blazer a few years ago at the salvation army. I remember it being expensive for the salvation army but i just had to have it - i mean, can you blame me?

Sequined blazer - Vintage (this would do)
Pleather pants - Trash & Vaudeville (on my wish list are these!)
Pumps - Christian Louboutin (non patent version here or in black here)
T-shirt - Zara
Bag - Bottega Veneta (similar here)

Hey Good Lookin'

Saying that amazing sartorial spottings at fashion month are expected would be stating the obvious, but now that it seems to have become a little circus-like and shed much of its authenticity, my eye has become far more picky and selective with what i consider to be amazing. Yonder you will find two of those isolated looks that encompass all that i love in fashion and style: effortlessness, personal spin and unfussiness. Kate Bosworth at Proenza and Géraldine Saglio somewhere between the nyc shows.

Rockin In the Treetop

I absolutely love this little rockabilly-inspired look from ASOS. It's so unexpected with the green leather and purple denim but somehow it just works and even more surprising is the leopard print shoes that tie the whole thing together. Very cool.

Confession: i'm not a fan of Fashion's Night Out. There, i said it. Isn't everyone thinking it anyway?! The annoying crowds, the absolute impossibility to find a cab, the people that take this opportunity to dress as though it's halloween (i mean, really?!). Pardon my honesty, but those are my thoughts! Well this year however, i got sucked into it my pal good pal lisa. And lo and behold - GASP - i had a good time.

New Season

Have you guys been keeping up with all the spring '13 shows from New York fashion week?? Any favorites so far? I'd love to hear what you guys think!

Other than all this fashion week madness, i'm continuing to be super excited about the weather cooling down and autumn fashion reprising its much anticipated role. These images from the Style By magazine are impeccably styled and represent everything i want to be wearing this season.

Red & Legs

Do you have an item in your closet that no matter how long you've had it for, you just can't seem to part with it even if you never wear it? I'm usually pretty decent at doing a little wardrobe purge every year, but for some reason, i've been holding on to these Aldo shoes since 2005!! They kind of look like these but with blue and turquoise in the mix. Strangely i never stopped liking them and it's the second time this year i've whipped them out. Take THAT! And i would be lying if i said that i didn't love the type of weather that warrants long sleeves to stay warm while still being completely comfortable to bare your legs.

T-shirt (similar here) - J.Crew
White denim shorts (diy from pants, similar here) - Gap

The Boz

A little late summer dressing inspo courtesy of Kate Bosworth. Easy numbers for the lingering heat. The woman always looks flawless.

Kasia Struss is one of my favorite models of all time. She's beautiful and her style is flawless - i've seen her walking around in my neighborhood a few times and she's even better in person, if that's even possible. In love with the look below. It's THE trifecta: effortless, chic, casual.
