An Afternoon at Bally

Hope everyone had a good weekend! Mine was pretty great, had friend's birthday, hit the movies to see Man of Steel in 3D and spent my sunday at a big food show sampling all kinds of delicious products from different categories -- oh, the perks of being married to someone in the food industry! Other than that, here is a friendly reminder that the Google Friend reader is disappearing today (!!) so make sure to switch the blogs you follow over to Bloglovin, something i've used and loved for years. Here's how. And follow Fashion Over Reason right here.

Moving right along... If you're among my instagram followers (as you should be), you must have seen that i took a little field trip to the Bally of Switzerland headquarters last week. I was invited to tour the showroom to preview some of their beautiful, luxurious fall pieces. It certainly did not disappoint -- the Swiss brand is masterful in crafting understated, refined leather goods and a true lesson in elegance. I spotted so many items that would fit in seamlessly with my downtown wardrobe, which brings me to the following conclusion: Bally is one of those labels that immaculately crosses the very divisive line drawn between two extremely different worlds-- the ladies who lunch uptown and young art galleristas and free spirits gallivanting the more urban city parts.

Above: in spite of the nearly-unbearable nyc scorching heat, i was so drawn to this tweed, cocoon-like coat from fall 2013 and just needed to put it on. How deliciously cozy and luxurious is this coat?!

I fell head over heels for their Duffy bag (right below): the petite square, simple shape feels ideally fresh. What i love about it most is that it feels both classic and current -- the perfect marriage, in my humble opinion. And that leather is completely irreproachable. I meannnn.

What a coat, what a collar!! I'd lean more to the cream poncho (heh) since I'm scared of colour but you look too good in both! Should have picked them both up! And I'm thinking of switching my musician husband dream for a food industry husband one because sampling food at a food show sounds like heaven!!
