Bumble Bee
There are certain color combinations that are big no-nos, simply because of the visual connotations they evoke. Example: green & red - Christmas; black & orange - halloween; black & yellow - bumble bee. Wait, what? Yes, the latter pairing is precisely what you're seeing below. I've chosen to break the rules, rebel that I am. In order for this to work, you have to choose the hues wisely. Going with a sunny yellow could've potentially been disastrous and I probably would have been solicited for honey. But this was not the case here, no sir, no ma'am. This amazing shift dress is almost like a lemon-lime hybrid color and telegraphs kind of neon, so pairing it with black felt cool. I know what you're all thinking: this amount of color is completely out of character. And you're right. But something about the shape, cut and material just made that bold shade attract me like a bee to honey (too much pun for ya? my apologies), and truthfully i felt good in it -- that's the important part, is it not? Such are life's mysteries.
The industrial waterfront zone of north Brooklyn provided the perfect setting for this getup and an NYC icon even makes a (very subtle) cameo. Can you spot it?

You do colour really well, you should do it more often for sure! Xoxo
As my husband frequently calls me...you're a rebel with goals! Some rules are meant to be broken, especially for the good of fashion! Love the dress, and I agree, it might have been disastrous without the neon hue!

I will start with that pic of you doing a Vogue worthy pose!!!! the hair and the pose!!! You look stunning and like a model out of an editorial!!! srsly you and this photog are the ticket to your blogger SUCCESS!!!! I can feel it! youre two ticks away from being all over the place. dont forget about me LOL!
Ok and did i mention you look insane!!!! Im freaking out
Now onto the blk and yellow thing: I hear ya! blk + orange combo kind of scares me. So bad. morese than green and red even though that's not enticing either. LOVE the colour on you: I almost feel like because you so rarely wear colour that this look amazing on you cause its such a standout look. ALSO! funny enough, i slid into a body con CVDS navy viscose dress lately and i know what you mean: feel feminine and a nice change from our tendency to err on the tomboy side of things!
cant wait to see your pretty face! xoxoxxoxo
