My hair was starting to look like an old straw broom so i was in dire need to snip a little more than the usual 1 inch. Here is the result of my summer hair refresher, although it's not that much different, it just feels incredibly healthier!

This past week, i stepped out in the look below for a very special evening -- an anniversary with the hubs (we celebrate, like, everything) -- and i thought i looked quite dashing for our summer date. Ever since this Balenciaga collection happened, flippy skirts have been on everyone's mind, including mine, obvi. I'm not one to be known for lusting over flounces, but these types of skirts offer perfect companionship to less feminine tops, say a loosy-goosy tee or tank. Counterintuitive pairings are my forte, after all. But always with a high heel. Wink!
Went to see the Punk exhibit at the Met in this getup a couple of weeks ago. It's not very punk, but it was perfectly comfortable for an afternoon at the museum. I highly recommend making it out to the exhibition if you find yourself in the nyc area this summer, it was pretty amazing! But hurry cause it ends August 14. xx
My love affair with the color red is turning out to be less brief than anticipated: i remain fully taken with the bright hue and am continuing on this train of thought that when used as a neutral, it feels incredibly fresh.
Joan Smalls models Mario Testino's Peruvian-inspired collection for Net-a-Porter's THE EDIT... i meannnnn...gorgeousness incarnate. And to make matters even better for us mere civilians, she looks just as stunning in person. Grrr.
It's been a few seasons now since the official inauguration of monochromatic looks into the trend world and it's one i particular enjoy wearing. It's so simple, which is how i approach dressing, yet packs such a statement. When it's this hot out, it's pretty organic to gravitate towards light colors, hence this all white look donned for a movie date a couple of weeks ago.
Top - Rogan for Target

A few weeks ago something really fun happened. I became a style ambassador for Socialbliss. The reason i went for it is simple: i love their site, what they're about and what they do. In a nutshell, it's kind of like Pinterest, but solely fashion and with a huge trade marketplace. It's a one-stop-shop for all of your style needs -- inspiration, the ability to buy what you see (or something very similar) and, as genius as it is, the ability to also sell. A ton of bloggers have taken to open their own online shops through their blogs over the past few years, which was a great idea if you wanted to eliminate the middleman. But if your blog doesn't have the kind of cult following that induces the immediate burning desire to have what you have in its readers, the Socialbliss marketplace, is, well, ideal.
Here are my offerings so far... in case you're a size 6 shoe and interested.
1.Givenchy SOLD | 2. Garrice | 3. & 4. Zara
Buy over here -- cost of shipping is included in the price of the item.
Anyway, it's also just a ton of fun (and might i say addictive) to browse through the ever-inspiring images that inevitably trigger the need for purchasing what you're looking at... proceed with caution!
I always love wearing green because it brings out my eyes, which are also green. It may sound like i'm joking, as i usually would be, but i swear i'm not! Green is truly my color. It also happens to just generally be an excellent pairing to a blonde's complexion and whenever i do wear it, i always think to myself that i should do it more often.
Suede tank - Bally of Switzerland (mens)
Cutoffs - Raven Denim (diy)
Shoes - Zara
Bag - Bottega Veneta
The one piece swimsuit. What are you thoughts on it? As someone who is on an eternal quest for the best tan my light skin can possibly harbor, my bikini-wearing beach and pool days are slanted more towards practicality than anything else. However, winds are changing in this camp: how chic are these one piece scenarios? I'm kinda thinking of investing, plus that way you don't have to worry about your jiggly bits!
Don't know if it's crazy hot where you are, but here on the East Coast it has just been scorching and muggy for the past 2 weeks, which can be problematic when putting together an outfit -- looking fresh, crisp and breezy can prove to be quite the challenge. And then it goes even further: what do you do with your hair? Your makeup? You LIFE?!?! Ok that last part isn't real, but it felt right to say then and there. I am here to solve all your style predicaments: when it's so hot you can barely stand to have anything on your skin, grab a silk tank, a pair of itty bitty loose cotton shorts and pull your hair up in a tight bun. All you need on your face is a few swipes of bronzer. If you want to fake fanciness, rim your lids with kohl and add a few pieces of jewelry that won't cause sweat outbreaks (aka, no bib necklaces). Voilà!
Every summer i fancy myself a free spirited boho babe, but i always end up wearing more modern/current pieces. It's not even on purpose: i would feel just as comfortable in a flowing hippie dress as i do in a structured leather top. So count this post as a friendly reminder to myself to buy more items that give off a flower child vibe.
Remember 2 weeks ago when i was Upstate NewYork for a wedding? I had never heard of this little town and turns out the region was too beautiful and picturesque not to share it just a little bit with you. I know the name Skaneateles looks incredibly confusing, and trust me it's just as unituitive to pronounce as it looks. All together now: skinny-at-less. Weirdness aside, this place is located in the Finger Lakes region and it is nothing short of mind blowing. Living here would feel like you're on vacation every day and lucky for the bride, that's where she grew up. Below are a few snaps from our short time there: on the road, a gorgeous Dinosaur BBQ-catered lakeside rehearsal, hanging out on the pier and my look for the big day. Shouldn't every good wedding reception end with women letting their hair down and leaving carrying their shoes in their hands? I think so. Coincidentally, the lilac maxi Acne dress is also the dress i wore to say I Do. Nothing like versatility!
