Florals for Fall, Groundbreaking

Transitional weather presents the most fabulous opportunities for fashion moments. You know, when it's between seasons and building outfits is all about tactical layering. It's personally where I feel at my sartorial best, maybe because I was raised in a place where dressing for four distinct seasons was always a life necessity.

I especially love when layers are fluid and oversized and when proportions are toyed with, just like what's happening in this airy autumnal getup. Cropped plaid wide leg pants paired with a cropped flowy floral blouse, topped with a robe-like coat that drops almost all the way down to my ankles.

Elevated just the right amount of inches by these super sensible-yet-chic & Other Stories booties.

Glossier Lidstar Swatching: A Holiday Special

I recently swatched the Glossier Lidstars on my Insta Stories and I felt like popping that up on here could be helpful for all of you who are looking for either the perfect holiday makeup or gift ideas for your girlfriends, sisters, mothers.

The 5 shades in order above are: Herb, Fawn, Cub, Lily, Slip, Moon.

Here's what's great about these eyeshadows:

- They're buildable
- They layerable
- They can look super subtle and natural as much as they can make a big statement
- They can be mixed in with other products to add a touch of shine (for example, I add the Moon to my Cloud Paint for a little dew)

They're ideal for all those holiday parties you'll be attending, trust. They also make for great stocking stuffers, ideal secret santa gifts, and super special presents to put under the tree.

Here's the kicker: GLOSSIER IS HAVING A 20% OFF EVERYTHING SALE THROUGH THE ENTIRE THANKSGIVING WEEKEND. So get to it for all your holiday beautifying this festive season.

What I Wore to Travel & Explore

If you follow me on Instagram, you've seen this look before. I wore this on our trip to Chicago a couple of weeks ago, put together with the Windy City's weather in mind. In fact, this was my airplane ensemble, which I had planned to stay in through our first day of exploring. It ended up being perfect.

Here are the reasons I love this look:

- The stripes are a classic but the pink scarf adds a nice jazzy touch.
- The color scheme is understated but not a snoozefest.
- The & Other Stories cords are a beautiful deep shade of blue and cute unexpected crop flared cut.
- The white Vans provide quintessential cool girl vibes.
- The suede jacket is vintage at its finest (an old Ann Taylor piece from what appears to be late 80s), and the color is echoed in the (also vintage) belt—a beautiful textured leather Armani.

It's one of those outfits that anyone can recreate, whether you're inspired by the individual pieces or the color palette. Kind of an autumnal no-brainer!

Ziggy Stardust Lite

Take the ultimate preppy piece—the white-collared shirt—throw a giant star on it (this one is by Current/Elliott), pair it with skinny leopard print denim, rock some patent leather loafers, and you've got a getup worthy of (a demure) Ziggy Stardust. I wore this fun look to One Kings Lane's brand new Soho store opening, which I thought made an apropos chic-yet-casual statement.

The great thing about both these separates is that they're super versatile. The white shirt for obvious reasons, and the leopard bottoms because they're autumn's hottest print while also being a great neutral (yes!) that you can actually wear with any color, from muted to loud (really!), depending on how adventurous you are.

3x1 Denim

I haven't worn skinny jeans in probably about 3 years, but if anyone could ever get me back on that wagon, it's definitely 3x1 Denim. Their collections always feel so fresh and current, plus the pieces are designed right here in the heart of New York City on Mercer Street and made in the USA. If you want that luxe feeling in an intrinsically cool pair of premium denim, these are the jeans are for you.

The rest of my outfit here is all vintage (except for the boots), like a usually roll. For some reason I felt compelled to take THE print of the summer—hawaiian—and fall's hottest—animal—and mash them together. It's like they're passing the torch to one another.

Vintage Dolce & Gabbana shirt (from Odessa Rae vintage)
3x1 Skinny Crop jeans
Rag & Bone boots (last year's collection)
